大学院への出願を考えている方
大学院政策・メディア研究科への出願を考えていて，私の研究指導を希望する方は，出願する回の締切の3週間前までに，教員コンタクトフォームから連絡してください．メールでの連絡が迷惑メールに振り分けられる事例が多く発生しているので，メールではなく，必ずこのフォームを使ってください．
出願の前に指導教員の内諾を得る必要がありますが，入試の手続き上，私は内諾するかどうかを決める前に面談を行い，研究計画書を検討する必要があります．そのための時間を確保するため，早めの連絡をお願いします．
卒業プロジェクト
私を卒業プロジェクトのメンターにしたい方は，卒業プロジェクトの履修規定を満たしていることに加え，卒業プロジェクト1の履修前の学期までに私の研究会に参加をした上で，卒業プロジェクトの方向性に関して私の了解を得ていることを条件とします．私の講義科目（社会構造分析，社会動態論，ポピュレーションダイナミクス，方法論探究）のうち，最低1科目を4年生開始前までに履修しておくことを強くお勧めします．
また，4年生になるまでに，私の授業に限らず，方法論探究・質的調査法・社会科学の計量分析・データサイエンス系列の授業など，社会科学分野の研究方法論に関するSFCや三田での講義を履修して，研究方法論に関する学びを始めていることが前提となります．
研究会
研究会B1では，社会学・人口学の理論や方法，国際移動に関する文献を輪読します．研究会B2では，各自の個人研究について報告します．
テーマは自由ですが，社会学や人口学の枠組みで問いを設定することを求めます．方法論は定性的手法，定量的手法，その組み合わせ等，問いにあったものであれば，自由です．アカデミックな論文が読める/書けるようになることを目標としています．
2026年度秋学期の研究会履修申込締切は2026年8月18日（火）23:59（日本時間）です．B1とB2それぞれのシラバスで具体的な内容を確認して，K-LMS上で申し込んでください．1–2年生からの積極的な応募を期待します．

Prospective Graduate Students
If you plan to apply to the Graduate School of Media and Governance and would like me to supervise your research, please contact me through the Faculty Contact Form at least three weeks before the application deadline for the round in which you intend to apply. Please use the form rather than email, as many inquiries sent by email have been filtered into my spam folder.
Applicants need a prospective supervisor’s informal consent before applying, and the admissions procedure requires me to interview you and review your research proposal before deciding whether to give that consent. Please contact me early so that there is enough time for this.
Graduation Project
If you would like me to be your mentor for your graduation project, besides meeting the requirements set by the SFC Registrar, you should have started participating in my research seminar (Kenkyūkai) by the semester before registering for your Graduation Project 1 (Sotsugyō purojekuto 1) and have obtained my approval of the direction of your project. Taking at least one of my courses (Macroscopic Social Analysis, Social Dynamics, Population Dynamics and Methodology Study) before starting your senior year is highly recommended.
In addition, by the time you become a senior, you are expected to have started learning social science research methods by taking related courses at SFC or Mita, not limited to mine, such as Methodology Study, qualitative research methods, quantitative analysis in the social sciences, or the data science course series.
Research Seminars
In Research Seminar B1, we read and discuss assigned literature on sociological and demographic theory and methods, as well as on international migration. Research Seminar B2 is where participants report on their own individual research.
You may choose any topic as long as you frame your research questions within sociology and/or demography. Methodologically, participants are free to use qualitative methods, quantitative methods, or a combination of both, as long as they suit your topic and research question. The goal is for you to eventually write your own academic papers.
Applications for the AY2026 fall research seminars are due on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, 23:59 (JST). Please check the specific details in the syllabi for B1 and B2, and apply via K-LMS. Applications from freshmen and sophomore students are welcome.
